I'm providing a list of companies as an effort to help you find quality contractors for all of your home improvement needs.
Whether you are a home owner/investor making changes to sell or just to maintain your investment picking a qualified and
reliable company is highly important. I have been involved with remodeling for the past 17 years and my experience has shown
Many of the companies listed below I have done business with or have clients who have done so. I will also love any referrals
you can provide that you feel would make this list more valuable. I am not offering any guarantee for the work provided by these
companies. I do recommend that you get at least three references from any company you are considering doing business with
but please don't stop there. It is possible for a company to give you the name and number of a third cousin who has been
instructed on exactly what to tell you. For this reason I feel the very most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to
obtain from them proof of an active liability insurance policy. You will need to request a Certificate of Liability Insurance and you
might want to contact the insurance company to verify the policy is still active. When checking references you can ask for photos
of work done as well as contact information. You can then ask the home owner to provide you with an address that you can
verify to belong to this person on www.hcad.org. While these suggestions my seem a little extreme to some, I can assure you I
have worked with too many people over the years who have failed to take such measures. And found out later after paying a
50% deposit that the company didn't have any commitment to customer satisfaction. In some cases they have found there was
no company at all. With insurance you at least have the possibility of filing a claim but other wise you will have to acquire the
services of an attorney and  hope for a judgement. But often that is all you will ever get! A piece of paper that says someone
owes you money. Please choose carefully when hiring and I hope this list is helpful to you.
